2022 Ron And Fran Mawaka Employee Of The Year Award

Last week, all Fleet Response and Paragon employees joined together across the country for the 2022 Ron and Fran Mawaka Employee of the Year Award. These awards are an opportunity to show appreciation and recognition when employees go above and beyond in exemplifying the Fleet Response core values.

We are so proud to announce Colleen Dietrich as the 2022 Ron and Fran Mawaka Employee of the Year. This year’s finalists included: Heather Lysyj (Claims), Genna Moats (Business Development), Mary Moore (Subrogation), Tina Starkey (Information Technology), James Jackson (Adjuster), and Gissela Gutierrez  (Paragon Subrogation).

The Employee of the Year awards has been an on-going tradition at Fleet Response since 2015. Ron and Fran Mawaka created this annual award to recognize and reward Fleet Response employees who show exemplary individual achievement, contribution, and performance in their roles. Employees are nominated by their peers, and finalists are chosen by the Fleet Response Executive team. Each of the six finalists represent a department within the organization. Finalists were presented with a $1,000 check and the award winner received a $5,000 check.

Gissela Gutierrez – 2022 Finalist

This is the first time celebrating the employee of the year awards ceremony at our new office in Hudson, Ohio. Additionally, this is the first employee of the year event that we were able to celebrate with our team at Paragon Subrogation Services. The ceremony was broadcasted live to the Paragon office in Chatsworth, CA,  where Gissela Gutierrez was recognized as an employee of the year finalist.

The awards started with commentary from Fleet Response founder, Ron Mawaka Sr. and CEO and President Scott Mawaka. Before announcing the 2022 Employee of the Year, Scott said, “This individual has only been with the company for three years but has done tremendous work and has become a leader very quickly,”  and proceeded to name Colleen Dietrich as the overall winner.

Colleen has been in the call center at Fleet Response since 2019. She started as a Call Center Representative and has recently been promoted to her current position as Call Center Supervisor. In 2021, Colleen was recognized as employee of the month in both July and December.

Co-workers describe Colleen as “the definition of a team player” and “one of the most helpful and dedicated people.”

“I have been here less than three years and I’m incredibly shocked,” Colleen said after receiving the award. “I have never worked for a company that appreciates their employees like Fleet Response does. We have a very supporting, friendly, welcoming environment where they care for people.” She went on to say, “I love being able to help those in need during an accident and assist them during that stressful time.”

This year’s finalists and winner are no stranger to being recognized for their hard work and dedication by our organization. This is the second time for Mary Moore being an Employee of the Year finalist (2015), Mary was also named Employee of the Month in May of 2020. Heather Lysyj was named Employee of the Month in March of 2017 and 2019. Genna Moats was also named Employee of the Month in October of 2018.

The dedication to their roles and our organization from these seven individuals never ceases to impress. Our values are a display of who we are as a company, and these awards signify these values. We as an organization are so proud to have this year’s finalists and winner on our team.

Congratulations to James, Tina, Heather, Mary, Genna, Gissela, and Colleen on this incredible honor!
